WEST FRANKFORT — The Benton Rangers used a hot-shooting performance to roll past rival West Frankfort 74-24 in the season and SIRR Mississippi opener.
Led by Colorado State signee Docker Tedeschi’s 28, the Rangers jumped out to a 16-0 lead and never looked back. Benton led 18-5 after one quarter and extended that lead to 38-11 by halftime.
Both teams have the rest of this opening week off before playing in tournaments next week–Benton in the Goreville Invitational and West Frankfort in the inaugural Foxes Invitational at Hamilton County.
