CARMI — The Carmi-White County Lady Bulldogs captured their first Black Diamond East volleyball championship since 2015 in dominating fashion, completing a 10-0 conference season sweep with a 25-10, 25-18 win over Fairfield.
It was a milestone night for the Lady Bulldogs. In addition to the conference title, junior standout Caroline Simmons surpassed 1000 career kills. Simmons was already the school’s record holder for kills and now is the charter member of the school’s 1000 kills club.
Carmi-White County improves to 27-1, while Fairfield falls to 20-9. The Lady Mules finish second in the conference race at 8-2.
