Johnston City picks up important non-conference win over Pinckneyville

JOHNSTON CITY — With postseason seeding set next week, the Johnston City Lady Indians picked up a nice boost to the resume with a 9-2 win over Pinckneyville.

The Panthers tallied runs in the first and third on RBI doubles by Rileigh Harris and Ella Keene to take a 2-0 lead.  The Lady Indians answered with four runs in the bottom of the third, four more in the fourth and another in the fifth to pick up the win.

Carsyn Clark’s two-run single started the four-run third and Lilli Armes’ two-run single capped the four-run fourth.

With the win, Johnston City improves to 19-5, while Pinckneyville falls to 17-6.
