Rangers pull away late to cruise to 10-0

BENTON — The Benton Rangers used a huge fourth quarter to pull away from Nashville for a 51-30 win to improve to 10-0 (4-0) on the season.

After the Hornets pulled within 30-26 on Maddox Ritzel’s three-pointer late in the third, Evan Munoz played beat the buzzer with a corner three to give Benton a 33-26 lead after three. The Rangers then went on to outscore the Hornets 18-4 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the 21-point win.

Benton junior Docker Tedeschi posted his second triple double of the month, finishing with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 blocks. Isaac Billington added 13 for the Rangers with Munoz (11) and Luke Melvin (10) also reaching double figures.

Ritzel led the Hornets (6-5, 1-2) with 15.
