DU QUOIN — Senior quarterback Camden Waller threw three touchdowns, two to PJ Winters including the go ahead score with 6:52 to play, as Du Quoin held off upset-minded Monticello 28-21.
Junior running back Luke Bauman ran for 185 yards on 42 carries and scored two touchdowns on the day, one on the ground and the other receiving.
Du Quoin is the top seed in the 3A south bracket. The Indians improve to 10-0 and will hit the road in round two to face ninth-seeded Tolono (Unity). That game will be Saturday at 2:00.
