Here are the nominees for April 14-19:
Mason Bastien, Murphysboro: The senior was 5-9 with a double, 2 home runs and 5 RBIs to help the Red Devils go 3-0 for the week.
Grace Bishop, Edwards Co.: The junior was 5-8 with 2 doubles, 7 RBIs, and 5 runs scored to help the Lady Lions go 3-0 for the week.
Cy Craft, Du Quoin: The sophomore was 1-0 on the mound, allowing no earned runs and 1 hit over six innings while striking out 13. At the plate, Craft was 4-14 with a double, 3 RBIs, 2 stolen bases, and 3 runs scored to help the Indians go 2-2 for the week.
Zoee Cullum, Johnston City: The senior was 9-14 with 2 doubles, a triple, 2 RBIs, and 8 runs scored to help the Lady Indians go 4-0 for the week.
Mitchel Edwards, Carmi-White Co.: The senior won the high jump at the Flora Invitational clearing 6’ 7”. In baseball, Edwards was 4-6 with a double, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs scored at the plate, while on the mound allowed a run on 1 hit in 3 innings of work, striking out 6.
Ella Keene, Pinckneyville: The junior was 9-13 with 4 doubles and 10 RBIs at the plate and alos picked up a win in relief in the circle helping the Lady Panthers go 3-0 for the week. Keene delivered the walkoff game-winning hit in Pinckneyville’s 8-7 win over West Frankfort
Andrea Kibler, Woodlawn: The sophomore was 6-9 with a double and a triple with 3 RBIs and 5 runs scored to help the Lady Cardinals go 2-1 for the week.
Andrew Kinsman, Benton: The senior won the shot put (58’5”) and finished 6th in the discus (139’) at the Herrin Invitational then broke his own school record, winning the shot put at the Mascoutah Military Classic with a throw of 60’2.5”. Kinsman finished second in the discus as Mascoutah with a throw of 147’9”.
Corinne Mueller, Steeleville: The freshman was 6-8 with a triple, 5 RBIs and 2 runs scored at the plate and went 2-1 on the mound, allowing 5 earned runs in 14.1 innings of work, striking out 15 along the way.
Kenzie Pierce, Sparta: The senior went 3-6 with a double, 2 home runs, and 9 RBIs in a win over Carlyle. For the week, Pierce was 8-18 with 2 doubles, 2 home runs, 10 RBIs, and 8 runs scored in 3 games.
Joey Sais, Galatia/Thompsonville: The senior was 4-6 with a double and 2 home runs and 5 RBIs to help the Bearcats go 2-0 for the week.
Elyssa Schoenbaechler, Waltonville/S-V: The sophomore was 3-0 pitching, allowing 2 runs on 10 hits while striking out 40 over 21 innings of work. At the plate, Schoenbaechler had 5 hits including a pair of home runs, 3 RBIs, and 2 runs scored helping the Lady Spartans go 4-0 for the week.
