MARION — Nashville junior pitcher Lucas Dunn dominated the Hornets’ SIRR Mississippi conference opener, striking out 14 of the 19 batters he faced for a five-inning no-hitter as Nashville cruised to a 13-0 win. The game was played at Mountain Dew Park in Marion due to wet fields from the storms over the weekend.
Dunn also drove in three runs during the Hornets’ nine-run fourth inning. Dunn’s RBI fielder’s choice scored Kassidy Linkey to make it 4-0, then later capped the outburst with a two-run single.
Nashville tacked on another run in the top of the fifth for the final margin of victory.
