Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Prime Time Performer nominees

Voting is open and will run through midnight Sunday for the next Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois in Mt. Vernon Prime Time Performer.

Here are the nominees for February 17-22:

Jayden Bazile, Christ Our Rock Lutheran:  The senior scored 24 points in a 65-59 overtime loss to 3A Highland.

Emma Behrmann, Nashville:  The junior scored 35 points to help the Hornettes go 2-0 and win the Greenville 2A Regional.

Carleigh Midgett, Marion: The freshman scored 34 points to help the Lady Wildcats go 2-0 and win the Herrin 3A Regional.  

Kamaree Pollard, Mt. Vernon:  The senior scored 38 points and grabbed 9 rebounds to help the Lady Rams go 2-0 and win the Mt. Vernon 3A Regional.

Cohen Sweely, Benton (SV): The sophomore was 1 of only 2 area medalists at the boys state wrestling meet. Sweely finished 4th in the 1A 113 pound weight class. He finished with a 45-6 record for the season.

Shanti Taylor, Cairo:  The sophomore scored 74 points in the semis and championship to help the Lady Pilots go 3-0 and win the Pope Co. 1A Regional.

Docker Tedeschi, Benton: The senior scored 35 points in the Rangers’ 56-55 loss at Pinckneyville.

Dillon White, Mt. Vernon:  The senior was 1 of 2 area medalists at the boys state wrestling meet. White finished sixth after having to forfeit his last two matches due to injury. He finished with a 42-3 record for the season.
