GOREVILLE — It will be top-seeded Gallatin County and fourth-seeded Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton battling for the Goreville 1A Girls Basketball Regional championship.
The Lady Hawks beat Century 44-24 in the first semifinal. Gracie Cox led Gallatin County with 16 points.
Elverado/Z-R then held off the host Lady Blackcats 58-51 in the second semifinal to earn a trip to the title tilt. Mylee Roberts led the Lady Falcons with 13 points with Brylee Martin and Maci Caraway adding 12 each. Goreville’s Lydia Kwiatkowski led all scorers with 22 points. Her teammate Jaidyn Wiesen added 19.
The Lady Hawks and Lady Falcons will battle at 6:00 Friday night, with the winner advancing to next week’s Trico Sectional.
