HARRISBURG — The Harrisburg Bulldogs improved to 2-0 in SIRR Ohio play with a 49-44 home win over Carterville Friday night at Davenport Gym.
The Bulldogs built a 29-15 lead at the half, then had to hold on down the stretch for the win. Carterville closed within six at 35-29 after three quarters and had opportunities in the fourth quarter but could not capitalize.
Jalon Ellis led Harrisburg with 17 points. Parker Poole led Carterville with 12.
The Bulldogs improve to 10-4 for the season, while the Lions fall to 7-6 (0-2).
Carterville is back in action Saturday night when Du Quoin pays a visit for a non-conference game. Harrisburg is off until next Friday at Murphysboro.
