HERRIN — The Herrin Tigers broke open a close game by outscoring Carbondale 13-2 in the fourth quarter to beat the Terriers 59-46.
Kyrese Lukens led three Tigers in double figures with 18 points. Grady Cox added 16 and Jared Staple, Jr. 14.
Coryion Keene was the only Terrier to reach double figures, finishing with 18.
Herrin has now won five in a row to stand 7-1 on the season. The Tigers will head back into SIRR Ohio play Friday when they will visit unbeaten Murphysboro.
Carbondale falls to 6-3. The Terriers will be back home and back in South Seven play Friday night when they welcome Marion.
