MT. VERNON — Monster nights from Melaina Zedalis and Kamaree Pollard led state-ranked Mt. Vernon Lady Rams to a win over visiting Marion 75-64 in an early season South Seven showdown.
Zedalis hit six 3-pointers and finished with a double-double with 35 points and 11 rebounds. Pollard meanwhile just missed out on a triple-double with 21 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds. Pollard had only two field goals on the night, but was 17-21 from the free throw line.
The Lady Rams, ranked fourth in the latest Associated Press 3A poll, improve to 8-1. The Lady Wildcats, who also received votes in the 3A poll, fall to
