MARION — Erik Griffin’s Marion Lady Wildcats handed Jake Stewart’s Harrisburg Lady Bulldogs their first loss of the season, 57-43 in a coaching match up of longtime friends.

Marion led by 12 early in the third quarter, only to watch Harrisburg go on an 8-0 run to pull within 26-22. The Lady Wildcats extended that lead back to 12 by the end of the third, and that’s as close it got the rest of the way.

Libbie Garrett led three Lady Wildcats in double figures with 19. Freshman Carleigh Midgett had a monster game with 15 points and 16 rebounds, with Ny’Aajha Curry adding 11.

Jamisen Green was the lone Lady Bulldog in double figures with 17.

With the win, Marion improves to 3-1, while Harrisburg falls to 6-1.
