VIENNA — Burlin Brower’s tenure as the Vienna boys basketball head coach is off to a pretty good start.

Brower’s Eagles beat Meridian and Massac County on back to back nights to complete a 4-0 week to win the Vienna Classic for the first since 2006.

The Eagles rallied from a 12-0 deficit to start against the Bobcats, winning 71-65. Hunter Webb led the way for Vienna with 23 points with Brayden Smith added 17. Meridian’s AJ Flenoid Junior led all scorers with 26 points before fouling out in the fourth quarter. Colin Monan added 20.

Vienna followed that with a 58-43 win over Massac County Saturday night to clinch the title. The Eagles trailed 42-34 in the fourth quarter before scoring 24 of the game’s final 25 points for the win. Webb was named Tournament MVP. Joining him on the All-Tournament Team was teammate Jacob Waters, Flenoid Junior and Monan from Meridian, along with Jude Harmon and Jack Turner from Massac County.
