DU QUOIN — Four games highlighted the opening night schedule of the Du Quoin Lady Indian Tip-Off Tournament, but none ended up particularly close.
Defending champion Salem opened by smothering Murphysboro 77-7. While that was going on in Anders Gym, Pinckneyville taking care of Cairo with a running clock as well, finishing with a 65-25 win.
The two nightcap games were both closer, but both ended with 16-point deficits. The host Lady Indians took care of Christopher 46-30, while Sesser-Valier/Waltonville was beating Woodlawn int he Auxiliary Gym 49-33.
The tournament will continue Wednesday night at 6:00 with Woodlawn vs Cairo (Anders Gym) and Salem vs Christopher (Auxiliary). Then at 7:30 it will be Pinckneyville and S-V/Waltonville (Anders Gym) and Du Quoin vs Murphysboro .
