Not pretty, but gritty: Johnston City headed back to state semifinals

JOHNSTON CITY — The Johnston City Indians are headed back to the 2A state semifinals for the second time in three years thanks to a 28-13. win over Pana.

Jace Weaver and Evan Sanders each scored a pair of touchdowns, and the Indians defense forced three turnovers that led to 14 points.

The Indians improve to 11-1 and will be home for the semifinals this time, as they will welcome Maroa-Forsyth next Saturday. Game time has already been set for 3:30.
