The Illinois Volleyball Coaches Association released its All-State selections, and a pair of area standouts earned first team selections–NCOE senior Hinsley Everett and Carmi-White County junior Caroline Simmons.
Everett was named to the 1A First Team after helping lead the Fighting Cardinals to a 37-3 season that ended Monday night in the Trico Supersectional. Simmons was named to the 2A First Team after helping lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 37-3 season as well that ended Monday night in the Arthur Supersectional.
Regionally, Carlyle’s Raelyn Harris and Breese Mater Dei’s Alyssa Koerkenmeier were also named to the 2A First Team while Mascoutah’s Emery Boehm was 3A First Team selection.
Everett’s NCOE teammates Hayden Knight and Jaydee Melton were both 1A Second Team selections, while Nashville teammates Scarlett Konkel and Emma Behrmann were 2A Second Team selections. Marion’s Lana Orrill was a 3A Second Team selection.
Regionally, Althoff’s Gabbby Orlet, Carlyle’s Makenna Reckling, Columbia’s Claire Sandstrom, and Mater Dei’s Addison Nenninger were also named 2A Second Team, while Freeburg’s Hailie Pajeres, and Mascoutah teammates Jamison Loe and Kinze Reese were all 3A Second Team selections.
All-State Honorable Mention selections included Massac County’s Hannah Edwards, Nashville’s Carly Kasten, and Vienna’s Ayva Rush along with Althoff’s Reese Distly, Red Bud’s Maria Murry, Freeburg teammates Olivia Joseph and Addie Hesseldenz, and Edwardsville’s Madelynn Ohlau.
