HERRIN — The Carbondale Terriers came up short in their bid to upset top-seeded Waterloo for the Herrin 3A Volleyball Regional championship, falling to the Bulldogs 25-19, 25-12.
The South Seven champion Terriers finished their season 26-10.
Waterloo advances to the Salem Sectional and will face Effingham Tuesday night in the first semifinal at 6:00. Two fellow Mississippi Valley Conference teams, Mascoutah and Triad, will battle in the second semifinal.
