HARRISBURG — Tiffin Kouzoukas and Riley Spencer each scored two touchdowns, and the Benton Rangers piled up 399 yards of offense on the way to a 34-7 win at Harrisburg, clinching a playoff berth in the process.

Spencer’s 34-yard first quarter score gave the Rangers a 7-0 lead. After the Bulldogs tied it 7-7 in the second quarter on Brendan Hicks’ four-yard touchdown run, Kouzoukas scored on a pair of short TD runs to give Benton a 21-7 lead at the half.

In the third quarter, Benton’s Grant Owens intercepted Harrisburg quarterback Owen Rann’s pass near field. Then Owens caught a 48-yard touchdowns pass to give the Rangers a 21-point cushion.

Both teams came into the game at 5-3, meaning the winner was in, and that the loser would have to wait until Saturday’s pairings were announced to know their postseason fate.
