NASHVILLE – Nashville and Pinckneyville shared the SIRR Mississippi volleyball championship last year. This year, the Hornettes made sure there was no sharing involved, clinching the conference title outright with a sweep of the Lady Panthers.
Nashville broke open a tight opening game with eight straight points to take a commanding 23-11 lead on the way to taking the game 25-14.
The Hornettes also used an 8-0 run in the second to take control on the way to a 25-11 victory in game two.
Nashville improves to 25-3 (9-0). The Hornettes will try to make it a conference sweep Thursday night at home against Du Quoin.
Pinckneyville falls to 18-6 (7-2). The Lady Panthers will host Benton to close out conference play Thursday night.
