NASHVILLE — Big offensive nights from Hayden Klingemen and Samuel Kollbaum and a stout defensive performance led by a pair of interceptions from Brance Luessenheide helped the Nashville take care of Benton 27-10.
The Hornets have now won three straight and remain unbeaten in SIRR Mississippi play.
Hayden Klingamen completed nine passes for 270 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 80 yards. Kollbaum piled up 224 receiving yards to go with 90 rushing yards and scored twice.
A Jesser Zepeda field goal and Tiffin Kouzoukas’ 17-yard touchdown pass to Grant Schafer in the third quarter accounted for the Rangers’ scores.
Nashville improves to 5-1 (3-0). The Hornets will travel to Pinckneyville Friday night. Benton falls to 3-3 (1-2). The Rangers will host rival West Frankfort Friday night.
