MARION — The Centralia Orphans used a complete team effort to dismantle Marion 35-13 Friday night on Pink Out Night at Wildcat Stadium.
Freshman quarterback Archie Goewey threw four touchdown passes including two to fellow freshman Kenny Bratton, the defense intercepted Marion quarterback Callahan Roper three times, and the special teams blocked a field goal to end the first half then recovered an onside kick to open the third quarter leading to an Orphans’ touchdown.
Centralia improves to 4-2 (2-0) setting up a first place showdown Friday at home against Cahokia. Marion falls to 4-2 (1-2). The Wildcats will step out of conference for a trip to Collinsville Friday night.
