JOSEPH – A major comeback bid on the road came up short for Carterville, as the Lions fell to state-ranked St. Joseph-Ogden 26-20.
The Spartans led 14-0 at the half and extended that lead to 20-0 early in the third. The Lions closed within six points twice in the fourth quarter but could not get equalizing score.
Carterville falls to 3-2 on the season. The Lions are back on the road next week and back into SIRR Ohio play when they will pay a visit to Harrisburg.
