MARION — The Marion Wildcats dominated in all phases, beating Lighthouse Christian out of Springfield, Missouri 51-6 to remain unbeaten on the season.
Callahan Roper threw three first half touchdowns, Max Wade caught one of those TDs and returned a punt 18 yards for another score, Ryian Calonne added a pair of the rushing TDs, and the Wildcats’ defense limited the Chargers to three first downs and five total yards on the day.
Things will get much tougher for Marion (4-0, 1-0) next week, as the Wildcats will get back to conference play, hitting the road for a South Seven showdown at Cahokia. The Commanches are 3-1 (1-0) on the season, with their only loss coming to perennial Missouri power, Jackson.
