HERRIN — The Carterville Lions used a big second half to open SIRR Ohio play with a 49-20 win at Herrin.
The Lions led 21-14 at the half, but proceeded to outscore the Tigers 28-6 after intermission to pick up their third straight win.
Carterville (3-1, 1-0) will step out of conference next week to pay a visit to state-ranked St. Joseph-Ogden Friday night. Herrin (0-4, 0-1) will go in search of its first win, on the road at Murphysboro.
