NASHVILLE — Nick Bisching’s six-yard touchdown run with 4:55 left gave Carterville the lead, and the Lions made defensive stand late to preserve a 20-16 win at Nashville.
With the Hornets driving for a possible game-winning touchdown, Carterville’s Parker Poole came up with an interception with 39 seconds to play to seal the deal.
Both teams are 1-1 on the season. Carterville returns home next week to host 2-0 West Frankfort, while Nashville will travel to 0-2 Wesclin.
