Fresh off a fourth place finish at the 2A State Tournament, the Carmi-White County Lady Bulldogs are the number one team in our River Radio Sports Central preseason area volleyball coaches’ poll. The Lady Bulldogs edged NCOE for the top spot, with the two teams splitting the 12 the first place votes. The Fighting Cardinals finished 38-3, advancing to the 1A supersectionals a year ago.
SIRR Mississippi co-champions Nashville and Pinckneyville sandwich Black Diamond East champ Fairfield to finish out the top five.
Edwards County makes it three BDC East teams in the top six, followed by SIRR Ohio champ Massac County and South Seven champ Carbondale. Carterville and Du Quoin round out the top 10, with Herrin, Salem, Marion, and Centralia also receiving votes.
