The annual Southern Illinois Coaches Association All-Star Football game will be Friday night at Murphysboro’s Doc Bencini Field.
Many of the area’s top seniors will be taking to the field, with the talent pool including seniors from the Black Diamond, SIRR, and South Seven Conferences as well as the Cahokia, Mississippi Valley, and Little Illini Conferences.
The players were divided into the Red Team and the Blue Team. The Red Team practiced this week at Marion with Murphysboro coaches handling the offense and Marion coaches taking care of the defense. The Blue Team practiced at Mt. Vernon, with the Rams’ coaches leading the offense and Mascoutah’s coaches handling the defense.
