Voting is open and will run through midnight Sunday for the next Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois in Mt. Vernon Prime Time Performer.
Here are the nominees for April 29-May 11:
Emma Behrmann, Nashville: The sophomore set school records while winning the 300 hurdles (47.09) and the long jump (18-7.75) at the Nashville 1A Sectional. She also a member of the winning 4×400 relay (4:12.39) and advanced to state with a second place in the triple jump (35-10.75).
Mitchel Edwards, Carmi-White Co.: The junior won the high jump (6-4) and triple jump (40-5.5) and finished second in the long jump (20-2.25). Edwards set a school and meet record in the high jump by clearing 6-7 at Fairfield’s Rick Book Invitational.
Jadyn Gerardi, Anna-Jonesboro: The freshman won the 400 (1:00.14) and the 800 (2:19.03) at the Salem 2A Sectional. She also swept the 100, 200, 400, and 800 at the SIRR Mississippi conference meet.
Branson Hill, Herrin: The junior was 4-4, tying a state record with 4 home runs to go with 8 RBIs in a win over Goreville. She followed that going 3-3 with an RBI in a win over Benton.
Marcus Leitzen, Johnston City: The freshman was 3-3 with 3 home runs and 5 RBIs in a win over Trico.
Megan McNitt, Murphysboro: The senior scored 15 goals helping the Red Devils go 4-2 in six matches. McNitt tallied 4 goals in a win over Pinckneyville and record 3 other hat tricks.
Brandon Menser, Waltonville/S-V: The junior tossed a 1-hit shutout while striking out 15 in a win over Cisne.
Dylon Nalley, Marion: The senior won both the 1600 and the 3200 at South Seven Conference meet, breaking long-standing records in the process. Nalley’s 8:57.03 broke a 50-year record in the 3200 and his 4:16.12 broke a 36-year old record in the 1600.
Issy Phillips, Du Quoin: The junior set a new SIRR Mississippi record in winning the 300 hurdles with a time of 47.05. She followed that by running a 47.04 to win the 300 at the Salem 2A Sectional.
