Our John A. Logan College Senior Spotlight is shining on Murphysboro’s Sarah Cook.
Cook is a two-sport standout for the Red Devils, playing volleyball and softball. In volleyball, she earned All-Conference honors in the SIRR Ohio as well as All-South honors the past two years and was honorable mention All-State.
In softball, with this year’s honors still to be announced, Sarah is a three-time All-Conference and two-time All-South selection, along with first team All-State in 2023. She is Murphysboro’s all-time leader in career and single season RBIs, single season home runs, career stolen bases, and career runs scored. This year through 29 games, Cook is hitting .500 with 5 home runs, 16 extra basehits, 30 RBIs, 21 stolen bases, and 40 runs scored.
Cook also excels in the classroom where she is an NFCA Scholastic All-American. She has earned high honors all four years and is in the National Honor Society. She is also active in the Key Club and Beta Club.
Cook has signed to play softball at SIU, where she plans to major in exercise science.
