Our John A. Logan College Senior Spotlight is shining on Du Quoin’s PJ Winters.
Winters has been a standout performer for both the Indians’ football and baseball teams.
PJ earned All-Conference in the SIRR Mississippi and All-South honors as well as being named Academic All-State in football, helping the Indians to a conference title, perfect 9-0 regular season, and a 10-1 final record.
He is currently hitting .442 with 5 home runs, 15 extra base hits, 31 RBIs, 31 stolen bases, and 52 runs scored for the Indians’ baseball team that won the conference title, posted a program record 30 wins, and is the top seed in the ZRC 2A Regional.
Winters also excels in the classroom, where he is the class valedictorian. He plans to major in biology and pre-med with the goal of being an eye doctor. Winters is headed to SIU to play football.
