OKAWVILLE — The Okawville Lady Rockets earned a return trip to the state tournament with a chance to make it back-to-back state titles by routing Goreville 55-26 to win the Okawville Supersectional.

Lady Rockets senior sensation Alayna Kraus led the way with 28 points in her final home game at the Orena. Fellow senior Raelyn Obermeier added 11.

Okawville’s defense was smothering, holding the Lady Blackcats to just 15 points over the final three quarters. The Lady Rockets were able to keep Goreville’s all-time leading scorer Abby Compton in check, holding Compton to six points. Compton’s first basket of the game put her over 2000 points for her career.

Okawville improves to 23-11. The Lady Rockets will face 29-7 Peru (St. Bede) in the second semifinal at CEFCU Arena Thursday morning at 11:15. Altamont (27-6) will meet Illini Bluffs (31-4) in the first semifinal at 9:30.
