Congratulations to Benton senior Mason Tieffel, our Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois in Mt. Vernon Prime Time Performer for the week of February 12-17.
Tieffel capped a perfect 55-0 season with an 18-6 major decision victory over Vandalia’s Dillon Hinton in the 1A 138 pound state championship match. That was the second straight state title for the Kent State signee, who finished his high school career with a record of 187-8.
