HARRISBURG — Carterville outscored Harrisburg 11-5 in the fourth quarter to pull out a 49-44 win over the Bulldogs. The win marked the Lions’ fourth straight, and coupled with Massac County’s 68-46 win at Herrin, moved Carterville into sole possession of first place in the SIRR Ohio.
The Lions lead Herrin and Massac County by a half game with Murphysboro a game back. Carterville (15-11, 4-2) will travel to Massac County Friday night.
Harrisburg (13-15, 1-5) has now dropped three straight and four of five. The Bulldogs will try to break their skid Friday night at Murphysboro.
