CARTERVILLE — The Carterville Lions used a balanced attack to pick up a home non-conference win Tuesday night, holding off West Frankfort 63-55.
Drew Barrington and Kaden Wilson scored 13 points apiece to lead the Lions with Colton Hawkins adding 12. West Frankfort’s Brady Melvin led all scorers with 22 with Keagan Bowers adding 15.
Carterville moves above .500 at 12-11 with the win. The Lions will have two more non-conference home games later in the week as they will welcome Carbondale Friday night and Anna-Jonesboro Saturday.
West Frankfort falls to 9-14. The Redbirds will return to SIRR-Mississippi play Friday night with a trip to Nashville before returning home Saturday for a non-conference date with Sesser-Valier.
