Massac County downs Vienna for first Superman Classic title in 22 years

METROPOLIS — For the first time in more than two decades, the Massac County Patriots are keeping the Superman Classic championship in Metropolis.

The Patriots jumped out to a 15-point lead after one quarter and never allowed Vienna to get closer than six points in the second half, cruising to their first Superman title since 2002 with a 77-63 win.

Tournament MVP Will Harmon led a balanced Patriot attack with 22 points. Isaac Hosman (16), Kris Garnett (12), Hunter Box (11), and Jackson Lee (11) all reached double figures as well for Massac County. Box added 18 rebounds to go with his 11 points.

Owen Treat led the Eagles with 16 points and nine rebounds. Hunter Webb added 15.
