CENTRALIA — Tourney MVP Cruz Harlan scored 13 of his game high 14 points in the first half as the host Orphans captured the 80th Centralia Holiday Tournament title with a 50-40 win over Chicago Marist. It’s the Orphans’ first CHT title since 2014.
Centralia seized control in the second quarter extending a two-point lead to double digits before taking a 26-17 lead into halftime. The Orphans extended that lead to as many as 17 in the fourth quarter before the Redhawks made a late run to close within eight with 1:04 to play.
Senior Daryle Jones was also named to the All-Tournament team for Centralia, who improves to 16-0 on the season.
