SESSER — The 42nd edition of the Sesser-Valier Holiday Tournament is a slimmed down version, with the field trimmed from 16 to 8 this year.
The top four seeds all advanced with opening rounds.
Included are highlights of top seeded Goreville’s 69-50 win over New Athens and 4th seeded Altamont’s 68-48 win over Du Quoin, setting a rematch of last year’s championship game in the semis.
Second seeded Red Bud outlasted the host Red Devils in overtime 56-49, and third seeded Waltonville rolled over Marissa/Coulterville 68-36.
