METROPOLIS — Massac County sophomore Kenna Hight poured in a game high 20 points including the tie breaking free throws with 44 seconds to play as the Lady Patriots edged previously unbeaten Vienna 61-59 in the championship game of the City of Metropolis Tournament.
Tourney MVP Adalyn Gower added 16 for Massac County with Brooklyn Burnett (12) and Elise Coakley (10) also reaching double figures.
Ayva Rush led the Lady Eagles with 19 points. Jenna Waters tallied 13, and Suhmer Daubert added 11.
In the opening game of the tournament’s final session, Carbondale downed Paducah Tilghman 56-30 for third place.
