GOREVILLE — The opening night of the 11th Goreville Invitational saw comfortable wins for Harrisburg, Benton, and the host Blackcats.
Cam Ande scored 33 and surpassed 1000 career points in the process as the Bulldogs beat Hardin County 71-53 in the opener. Connor Henshaw added 17 for Harrisburg. Landon Fricker led the Cougars with 17.
The Rangers raced out to a 17-2 lead after one quarter and never looked back, beating Anna-Jonesboro 69-32. Evan Munoz led the Benton attack with 21 points with Isaac Billington adding 19.
The Blackcats raced to a 29-7 lead after one quarter and cruised to an 84-29 win over Johnston City. Tyler Suits led Goreville with 17 points. Connor Gregg added 16 and Cole Tripp 13.
