BENTON — Docker Tedeschi led four in double figures with 19 points as the Benton Rangers beat West Frankfort 55-43 in the season opener for both teams.
Luke Melvin added 12 points, Isaac Billington 11, and Evan Munoz 10 for the Rangers.
Brady Melvin led the Redbirds with 15. DT Thomas and Keegan Bowers each tallied 10.
Both teams will play in tournaments next week. Benton will face Anna-Jonesboro first in the Goreville Invitational Monday at 6:30. West Frankfort will begin play in the inaugural Hamilton County Foxes Invitational Monday at 8:00 against Wayne City.
