BLOOMINGTON — The IHSA has selected a group of area officials for the call of a football state title game next Friday in Bloomington.
The crew of Ted Knapp, Jared Knapp, and Randy Jenkins from Mt. Vernon along with Gary Moore from Fairfield and Larry Harre of Nashville will have the call of the 1A State Championship game at 10:00 Friday morning (11/24).
While extremely rare, this is the second year in a row a father/son duo has worked an IHSA football state championship game. Pat and Patrick Geary, Jr. from Mokena were part of the crew that called last year’s 6A championship game between East St. Louis and Crystal Lake Prairie Ridge. The Knapps will be a part of the crew calling the 1A title game between Lena-Winslow or Chicago Hope Academy against Greenfield/Northwestern or Camp Point Central.
