DU QUOIN — The Du Quoin Indians wrapped up a perfect regular season with a dominating 39-7 win over Murphysboro in a matchup of 8-0 teams.
The Indians did everything right in the opening quarter, jumping out to a 20-0 lead, a lead they carried into halftime.
The Red Devils got on the board with the opening possession of the third quarter as Tyjaire Kellum scored on a 23-yard touchdown run, but the Indians answered on their next possession with a 72-yard Camden Waller to Triston Webb touchdown pass on a third and long.
Du Quoin tacked on two more scores in the fourth quarter including a 62-yard TD run by Webb, his third score of the night.
The Indians finish the regular season 9-0, while the Red Devils are 8-1. Both teams should have home first round playoff games. The playoff pairings will be announced Saturday night.
