NORRIS CITY — NCOE held off Fairfield in three sets in a matchup of the top two teams in our Deep South Volleyball Coaches’ Poll.
After dropping the opening set 25-22, the number two Fighting Cardinals jumped out to a 9-0 lead and went on to win the second, 25-19.
NCOE led by as many five points in the decisive third set, only to watch the Lady Mules rally to tie at 20-20 and 21-21. The Fighting Cardinals won four out of the final five points to take the third 25-22.
With the win, NCOE improves to 32-2. Fairfield falls to 27-3.
