MURPHYSBORO — On a night when Murphysboro honored seniors Megan McNitt and Sarah Cook for career milestones achieved, Karli Mann and the Herrin Tigers came to town and spoiled the evening.
Prior to the match, the Red Devils honored McNitt for reaching 1000 career kills and Cook for reaching 1000 career assists. Fittingly, Cook set up McNitt for an early kill as Murphysboro jumped out to a quick lead.
Mann had the answers for Herrin. The EIU commit helped the lead the Tigers to a five-point lead, and Herrin held on to win the opener 25-22.
The Tigers jumped out to a 9-1 lead in game two and never looked back, cruising to the sweep, 25-14.
