WEST FRANKFORT — A consistent day featuring four scores in the low 80s led the Trico Pioneers to the Z-R Boys 1A Golf Regional championship.
Brock Naile and Zach Compton both carded 81s for Trico, while Michael Brees and Brock Heins both tallied 82s for the Pioneers.
Waltonville/Sesser-Valier and Zeigler-Royalton/Christopher both advanced as teams as well.
WSV’s Brendan Klingler and ZRC’s Chase Cole both finished with 77s. The went head to head in a playoff, with Klingler posting a birdie on the second sudden death hole to earn medalist honors.
