CARBONDALE — Different division, same result.
The Benton Rangers closed the regular season in familiar fashion. The Rangers may have switched sides in the SIRR, but the result was the same–the team’s 9th straight boys golf championship. This one is the first on the Mississippi side.
Benton’s River Stilley beat teammate Kash Cantrell in a three-hole playoff for medalist honors.
Nashville was second followed by Anna-Jonesboro, Du Quoin, Pinckneyville, and West Frankfort.
Led by senior medalist Luke Maurer, the Massac County Patriots captured their ninth SIRR Ohio Boys Golf championship.
The Patriots beat Carterville by 19 strokes with Murphysboro finishing third 24 shots back. Herrin and Harrisburg rounded out the team standings.
