Anna-Jonesboro and Benton sweep top spots at Murphysboro

MURPHYSBORO –Led by dominant performances, Anna-Jonesboro’s girls and Benton’s boys won individual and team titles at the Murphysboro Cross Country Invitational.

A-J freshman Jadyn Gerardi made quite a high school debut, winning the girls’ individual title by 18 seconds with a time of 18:51. The Lady Wildcats placed all seven runners in the top 15 to cruise to the team title.
Anna-Jonesboro freshman Jadyn Gerardi was the medalist at the Murphysboro Cross Country Invitational, her very first high school meet.

 

Benton senior Gavin Genisio won the boys’ side by 27 seconds with a time of 15:12. The Rangers finished with five of the top 14 runners to win the team title.
